Kris Ackley joined With Wings and a Halo in February 2009 as the Executive Director for Minnesota:

"Putting a smile on the face of a child in need" is a mission that rings true with all of us. I am looking forward to getting this program established in Minnesota to make a difference not only in our local communities, but throughout the entire state.

Prior to joining WW and AH, I worked for the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) in Madison, WI for 11 1/2 years in a number of roles, most recently as the Director of Donor Relations & Events. My primary responsibility was to manage and promote the award winning Community Investment Fund, the Foundation's primary mechanism for raising funds in support of their mission to promote and improve consumer financial independence through credit unions.

My other responsibilities included working with and recruiting national corporate supporters, planning and executing the Herb Wegner Memorial Awards Dinner and other fundraising events such as golf tournaments and silent auctions, board and committee relations, partnership projects with state leagues and foundations, and recognition programs for foundation activities. I also served as the staff liaison to NCUF's Fundraising Committee and Awards & Recognition Committee, and the State Credit Union Foundation Network.

In July 2008, my significant other Tom and I relocated to Prior Lake, MN and started Retail Construction Solutions, a nationally based construction company that specializes in carpentry and millwork, demolition, and storefront aluminum and glass installation for the retail construction industry.

I have a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse and have taken graduate courses in Sports Marketing at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. I am a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Minnesota Chapter.

I grew up in Pigeon Falls, WI where I cut my teeth in fundraising selling girl scout cookies, Lions Club tickets, and just about anything else to raise money for the community and her school. I have volunteered with the United Way. Currently, I reside in Prior Lake, MN with my significant other Tom. I am adjusting to life as a stepmom to Derek (18) and Erin (15), both active soccer players. I also enjoy working out, walking our dog Duchess, mosaic art, stamping, and reading suspense novels.
