Rebecca Thomas,
and her husband of 25 years, Don, are both
natives of Superior, WI and have lived in
the Traverse City, MI area since 1997.
Rebecca is a former teacher/school
administrator. Her 13 year career in
Education spanned grades 1-12, specializing
in English and Writing.
In 2005 her country home, nestled on 13
acres, became her classroom and she became
Teacher to her own children.
"With Wings and A Halo is a perfect fit for
our family." states Rebecca. "As a former
school teacher I am all about literacy!
Equipping positive role models to support it
within local communities is simply a
wonderful idea! There is no better time to
illustrate the power of a good piece of
literature to a youngster than when they
need to be engaged in something far more
positive than what is going on around them.
The B.A.C.K. Packets take what might have
been a horrible memory in the life of a
child and puts a positive spin on it. In
addition, the good men and women who offer
their services as community servants deserve
the help that these B.A.C.K Packets bring to
the arena. The fact that we already travel
and home school the kids lends itself
perfectly to expanding the R.E.A.C.H.
Program throughout Michigan."
In addition to being a super dad and an
incredibly supportive husband, Don, as a
third-generation printer and owner of
Victory Printing and Design is as eager as
ever to offer his skills in printing and
graphic arts to expand the R.E.A.C.H.
program. The two kids still at home can
hardly wait to start doing their part and
are already trying to figure out a way to
make Toby, their Certified Therapy Dog a
part of the projects.
Being a part of something so wonderful that
brings so much to the life of a child makes
everyone in our family smile.
