OUR MISSION
Our Mission is..."To put a smile on the face of a Child in the time of need!"
The purpose of "With Wings and a Halo - R.E.A.C.H. a Child" is to reach out to children across America that find themselves in a crisis situation, whether they are being treated in a Children's Hospital, a Natural Disaster Area Shelter or children who are temporarily homeless or in distress.
OUR PROGRAMS
Currently, our main program is called R.E.A.C.H. a Child (Reading Enjoyment Affects Childhood Happiness), and it centers around delivering children's books
to children who find themselves in a hospital situation or crisis resulting from a natural disaster. We distribute books in a B.A.C.K. Packet directly to children
in need, or to staff at Children’s Hospitals, local police, firefighters, or aid and
relief workers to distribute the books directly to the children.
As
of February 2008, we
have now received an
“Official Statewide
Endorsement” for the
“B.A.C.K. Packets”
initiative. Our
B.A.C.K. Packets are
already in over 750
squad cars
and ambulances in over twenty Counties here in Wisconsin
and growing daily.
This endorsement by the State Chiefs of Police Association means that we will soon have our “B.A.C.K. Packets” in approximately 5,000 vehicles in this state and donating over 60,000 children’s books every three to four months to
children here in Wisconsin. We are already beginning to receive requests to expand this program regionally because of the positive impact that it is having
on children in crisis!
OUR GOAL
Our goal is to develop an ongoing donation program supported by individual donations, corporate gifts, grants and direct contributions of books and other supplies. Collectively, these tax deductible contributions will be used to support and supply the organization’s efforts in furtherance of its charitable purposes.
OUR VOLUNTEERS
Our Non-Profit Corporation is in the process of recruiting volunteers from all
walks of life to become involved in our program. Currently, Frontier Airlines
has agreed to be an resource for WW AND AH to transport children's books
and materials to and from any of their major terminals across the country.
