Welcome Friends,

Spring is finally here!

And with the grass starting to turn green and the robins back in Wisconsin it won't be long before the temperatures are in the 60's and 70's and we are back out on the soccer fields, ball diamonds and golf courses!

We have some exciting news to share with all of you!  Just days ago both Chris and I were invited up to Sauk-Prairie to meet with Lea Culver and her assistant Nettie, who heads up the "Culvers V.I.P. Foundation".  We discussed the possibilities of partnering together with the "Culver's Foundation" to help our organization grow throughout the state and the Midwest!  Lea and her husband, Craig Culver, are the Co-Founder of Culver's.

Together, they have expressed an interest and a willingness to help children everywhere and in every circumstance who are less fortunate, from no fault of their own. The Culver's Restaurant and Franchising System are busy consulting with their marketing department on various ways that we can work together to reach out to children in crisis!  Wonderful news and developments will be coming shortly to all of you as it becomes available!

On another topic, we have been getting a number of inquiries from various concerned individuals and corporations in Wisconsin asking us how they can help out this rapidly growing program of donating children's books to children in crisis.  As a result of that interest, we have had our first "outside organization" of volunteers from the Lands End offices in Dodgeville help stamp and sticker and sort books for our "B.A.C.K. Packets" program.

This group was put together by Amy Gordon, the Executive Assistant to Joan Conlin of Lands End Corporate.  We are sure to hear more from that group of folks in the months ahead as they, too, look for ideas and ways to support our efforts at WW AND AH.  They took 8-10 "B.A.C.K. Packets" with them before they all left, to give out to the Iowa County Sheriff's Department and the City of Dodgeville Police Departments!

The last phone call that we made today was to the Girl Scout Council who had asked us for further information on how the Girl Scout program can help out WW AND AH.  They would like to make a statewide appeal to their entire organization for support of this program and team up with us to provide the girls with a "Volunteer Service Project" for them to participate in!  Who knows, they could probably sell Girl Scout Cookies and collect Children's Books at the same time as they go house to house in every city in America!!

Finally, just another mention of the WTMJ TV4  "The Morning Blend" news report on May 1st from 9:00 till 10:00 a.m.  Hope you can tune in... we will be announcing a new and exciting event that will be sure to make the news in the months ahead!!

We have so much to be thankful for!!

That's all for now...

Respectfully,

Paul S. Gilbertson, Co-Founder
Executive Director
